Hello and Welcome to The Drum Spot! 

Let me just start by saying I absolutely LOVE playing and teaching drums!  My name is Michael Brandt and I've been playing drums for over 2 decades! I studied and received a degree in percussion performance from Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, CA which is where I began to understand the fundamentals of what it takes to be a working musician in today’s music business. I am proficient in reading/writing drum notation, charting songs,  social media, content creation, music composition, recording with Logic Pro, editing video with Final Cut Pro, as well as in playing multiple genres/styles of music such as Rock, Pop, Country, Metal, Latin, Jazz and Funk to name a few. From “traditional” tours to radio tour,  fly dates to bus-calls, festivals to arenas and every dive bar in-between, I’ve played countless shows all over the country in almost every state with the exception of Alaska and Hawaii. While living in Nashville I had the opportunity to record in A-list and Major Label Studios. I've played for artists signed to major labels as well as been a 'hired gun" for one-offs that required me to learn an entire set of original music sometimes within hours of the gig then go perform with complete strangers as if we were family and had been practicing for a very long time. All of these experiences have helped to shape me into the person and drummer I am today and I am incredibly humbled and grateful for them! Music and learning have always been a huge passion of mine. To this day I still love studying and learning new things whether it be with music, cooking, fitness, or fatherhood.
